Where Community Finds Its Strength

Our mission at A Better Way OutReach is to empower veterans, single mothers, minorities, and other disenfranchised individuals by equipping them with practical skills, education, and resources.
Through mechanics training, car restoration, community classes, and mentorship, we help people gain confidence, achieve self-sufficiency, and create better opportunities for themselves and their families.
We are committed to providing support that extends beyond skills, connecting individuals to jobs, education, housing, and resources so they know they have the skills, knowledge and strength to thrive even in the face of challenges.
A Better Way OutReach was founded by Rod Manning, a veteran, mechanic, and lifelong car enthusiast with a heart for service.
Rod grew up in a single-mother household where money was tight and every challenge felt overwhelming. Those early struggles shaped his determination to create opportunities for others facing the same uphill battles.
As a mechanic, Rod has seen firsthand how easily women can be taken advantage of when buying or repairing cars.
With his deep knowledge of cars, he knew he could change that by teaching women the basics of mechanics and car care. These skills save money, build confidence, and prevent exploitation.
As a veteran, Rod also understands the unique challenges service members face when transitioning back to civilian life.
Too often, veterans struggle to find steady work and reliable resources. By teaching mechanics and car restoration, Rod gives them practical, employable skills that prepare them for the workforce.
What makes his vision even more powerful is the end goal: the very cars restored through the program will be given to the people who worked on them. A car is more than getting from point A to point B, it is a pathway to independence, stability, and opportunity.
Rod knows how blessed he has been and never forgets where he came from.
His passion for giving back to the community has been building for years, and A Better Way OutReach is the realization of that dream.
This is a place where single mothers, veterans, minorities, and others who feel overlooked and just need a little help can learn, grow, and step into a future filled with possibilities.
Rod Manning started A Better Way OutReach after years of watching people get taken advantage of in the service industry.
As a mechanic, he saw how often minorities, veterans, and single mothers were overcharged or misled, and he made it his mission to change that.
Through A Better Way OutReach, Rod helps participants gain mechanical knowledge that saves money and builds confidence. Beyond that, the program connects people with job and housing resources, offers workshops, and supports them in finding direction and purpose.
Participants also gain exposure to car restoration projects, which can lead to valuable job placement opportunities.
Guided by faith, family, and community, Rod is committed to serving those who feel they cannot help themselves. For him, A Better Way OutReach truly is a better way out.
